The Joplin Amateur Radio Club (herein known as JARC) Hamfest offers different types and rates for exhibit space depending on the type of vendor and/or the type of merchandise offered for sale. The following rules govern the placement of vendors and exhibitors within the show. All returning vendors must declare for their booths no later than June 1st to retain previous year’s location.
The commercial area / dealer show is open to any and all vendors and exhibitors who wish to display at the hamfest. Priority for booth space will be given to amateur radio, electronics, and computer related businesses and exhibitors, but others are also welcome as space permits. Vendors will have 8ft tables and electricity. They will be given pre registration location preference. Banners will be allowed. Tier 1 vendors will be provided with special access badges and be allowed early setup times. Vendors may have other special privileges as determined by show management.
The flea market area is available to vendors and exhibitors according to the following criteria:
Vendors who offer for sale at the hamfest new merchandise of any kind that is priced over $100 per item which carries with it a new factory warranty, or if you are actively engaged in the business of buying and selling, must purchase a vendor booth.
Specific items that cannot be sold from the flea market include, but are not limited to:
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY VENDOR OR FLEA MARKET EXHIBITORS SELL ANY ITEM BEFORE 12:00pm ON FRIDAY TO ANYONE INCLUDING OTHER FLEA MARKET EXHIBITORS.
Tier Vendors will be allowed to setup earlier with prior permission. Setup will be on Thursday starting at 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Doors will be locked at that time. Setup will resume Friday at 8:00am, Saturday 7:00am until 8:00am. After 8:00am Sat. the rear Door will be closed and you must use front door.
Clubs, groups, and similar organizations that exist solely for the benefit of amateur radio are allowed one display table in the hamfest at no charge as designated by the hamfest committee on a case-by case basis and as space allows. No marketing of commercial products or services is permitted from complimentary booths, except memberships or incidental items such as club pins, buttons or patches. Complimentary booths do NOT include admission. If you reserve a complimentary table and are unable to attend, please inform the dealer show chairman by email as soon as possible.
No vendor or flea market table will be formally assigned until payment is received. Online registration and payment is the only method we accept.
We are required to submit a list of the exhibitors who appear to be engaging in a business to the tax agencies before show ends. All exhibitors must collect city, county and state sales tax as applicable on all hamfest sales. Packets will be available at the event if needed. The sales tax rate is 6.35%
